Hello sunshine

(jacket & jeans Asos, ankle boots Schuh, necklace F21, backpack vintage)

These photos were taken a few days ago while I was still in Athens. We had about half an hour until the sun left the sky completely, so we had to track it down which meant going up hills where its last glimpses weren't hidden by Athens' tall buildings. My next post will be from Crete where I will be spending the rest of my holidays before returning to London; gonna try to make them extra special so.. stay posted!

What's under the skin

These are three shots by German portrait photographer Anna Bauer. I recently read an interview of hers for
i-D magazine and was fascinated by her interesting and different way of shooting. The images are from her backstage collection, and are shot using large format camera and Polaroid film. In the busy backstage area of catwalk shows, she finds the subject who then must stand still and look directly at the camera for at least two minutes. The results are very intimate portraits; 'the subject is part of the process and therefore they let you in more'. For me these pictures are all about the eyes and their intensity and sincerity. She shoots while fashion is happening, without arranging the portraits which disables the subjects to overthink and just to 'be'.Read her interview here.

Athens bound

(knit Boohoo,shorts Topshop, boots Ugg)

Just arrived in Athens 2 days ago, happy to be home for the holidays. A little break from uni was needed, although I still have a lot of coursework. This was a chilly day, I wish I wore something warmer but I like this outfit none the less. Burgundy is my new favourite colour, Im still searching for the perfect burgundy boots!!

Attitude

Ashley Smith in VEDA for Reformation from VEDA on Vimeo.

Love this editorial in which Ashley Smith stars as the face of VEDA x Reformation's holiday 2011 collection shot by Ari Marcopoulos. These pictures have such a great rock n roll style and attitude. Vintage looks reworked with my favourite materials, lace, leather and velvet, can never go wrong! Every piece in this collection is unique, personally I would like them all! And how cool is the video? Such a cheeky little attitude!

Red&Black

(sweater Carven Gargoyle,silk bra Debenhams,fedora hat Christies',gloves Rag&Bone,boots Versace for H&M,bag Mulberry)

If I were to make a Christmas wish list, it would probably look something like this. I love that sweater and I've been dreaming to get my hands on the Mulberry Alexa since it was first in stores! Oh, why does everything have to be so expensive?! Hope you like these items!

Love

If you could fall in love with a pair of shoes, I think for me it would be this one. Everything about them is perfect:
suede, burgundy, classic cut. Just think of all the outfits you could pair these beauties up with!
Unfortunately, they will not be found in my shoe collection any time soon as they are by
D&G and way over my price range. You can buy them here

Festive spirit

;

These pictures are all from the Christmas market on South Bank: the second, third and forth are three of the little stands there, I just loved those handmade leather coated notebooks, so vintage! And, well, how can you not be in love with carousels, everything about them is so magical..The festive spirit is finally here! Hope you like them!

London calling

(shirt Topshop, pants River Island, leather jacket Kookai, shoes Boohoo)

So, today I spent my day in London and had a really good time! We went all around embankment; it's
so beautiful, especially now they have the Christmas Market with the cutest stalls selling everything you can think of from little gifts to food, sweets and mulled wine. I'm really starting to feel the Christmas spirit, I'm literally counting down the days until the holidays! I did like the outfit I chose but I have to admit walking around all day in skin tight pants and wedges is not the best idea. Just wanna give a great thanks to my friend Pam who took these pictures and listened to me moaning about my feet being in pain from those shoes all day! Was a great day all in all, went to the theatre to see Playboy of the Western World in the evening which was an interesting play.. Now, finally sleep, i'm exhausted! Hope you like my outfit. xoxo

Oh, yes!

These beauties just arrived today from Boohoo and I think I'm in love again! They are even better than I had expected and  so soft! Although they will probably kill my feet at first until they get worn in to, I can't wait to wear them! Oh, the possibilities of outfits with these..!

What Lies Beneath

The first time I came across this editorial featured in LOVE I was bedazzled by it. It is so dark, sinister and mysteriously beautiful. The naked pale shapely bodies look like nymphs of darkness almost being tortured but gaining pleasure by it. A dark fairytale comes to mind, images from a story like the ones Hans Christian Andersen has written. The styling, the make up, the location and the light are just perfect! Even the clothes they have used, although we can't see them very well match perfectly with the concept! Don't know if you recognized any of the models, there are some great names involved:  Anais Pouliot, Lara Stone, Mariacarla Boscono, Saskia De Brauw, Kristen McMenamy, Guinevere Van Seenus, Xiao Wen Ju,  Paul Boche, Jed Texas, and Angus Whitehead. And the amazing photographers that shot this editorial are Mert Alas and Marcus Pigott, definitely start looking out for their creative work! I could just go rambling on about this editorial for hours, but I don't want to bore you! I really hope that you will appreciate it as much as I do!

On a cold winter's day

(turtleneck knit Asos, leather skirt Batoko, wedges Asos, leather satchel vintage)

It was a very cold day indeed, probably one of the coldest yet and I really regretted not wearing a coat when I left the house but I kind of got used to it after a while! This is my new skirt, it just arrived this morning and I am loving it! I ordered it from Asos Marketplace, but it's actually from the online shop Batoko which I had never heard about before and was pleasantly surprised with the cool stuff they sell. This e-shop is definitely worth visiting, I especially like their jewellery and the prices are great as well. It's finally the weekend and I was really hoping to go to London but unfortunately I will be spending it at home reading mythology for my course.Yes, not exactly my idea of a good weekend but coursework always comes first...right? Hope you have a good time!

i'm a cheeky cheeky girl

I love this SS2012 editorial for style stalker. Alexandra Spencer who models this collection looks so innocently cheeky in pretty, feminine and sexy clothing. These clothes look so comfortable while being effortlessly chic at the same time. With pales dominating, white, blue and grey the pictures bring and airy and ethereal feeling to them. And of course lace could not be left out of this feminine and elegant collection, don't you just love that black lace dress? Not sure if I could pull it off but she sure can! Good job to the photographer Kimberly Gordon for bringing all the beautiful light to these pictures. I could not imagine how these clothes could have been showcased better!
